Patient Buddy System
Abstract
A system to enable the doctor to remotely detect the physiologic measurements of multiple patients (up to 3), receive alerts if patients’ conditions get critical and send a message to the patient informing them about the next steps. The system measures heartbeat, body temperature, position and movement of the patient continuously and sends an alert to the doctor automatically when the critical conditions are reached.
Objectives & Introduction
- Monitor physiologic measurements of the patients: heartbeat, temperature, movement and patient position
- Allows the doctor to monitor physiologic data for up to three patients.
- Send the physiologic data to the doctor upon request,
- Determine if the patient’s physiological conditions are critical.
- Automatically alert the doctor of the patient’s conditions if critical conditions are reached.
- Allow the doctor to send a text to the patient inform them about the next steps.
- Communication between the boards.

Schedule
Show a simple table or figures that show your scheduled as planned before you started working on the project. Then in another table column, write down the actual schedule so that readers can see the planned vs. actual goals. The point of the schedule is for readers to assess how to pace themselves if they are doing a similar project.
Week# | Date | Task | Actual |
---|---|---|---|
1 | 4/14/2015 | Order materials, ElectricImp exploration, Patient Position | Completed ordering materials |
2 | 4/21/2015 | Develop position details about the subject's orientation via the accelerometer, test different algorithm methods and store the data in Flash. | Completed getting the position details and developing a basic algorithm; Attempts to modify the algorithm are in progress. |
3 | 4/28/2015 | End to End Communication: Getting the data from the sensor and displaying it on the app's page. | Planned |
4 | 5/05/2015 | Add other sensors to the system (temperature and heart rate) and work on doctor to patient communication and implement some emergency feature. | Planned |
5 | 5/12/2015 | Improve app and work on data analysis on the app's side to make the data look meaningful and interesting. | Planned |
6 | 5/19/2015 | Test the system and add other details about the data (such a monitor change in heart rate, etc.) | Planned |
7 | 5/22/2015 | Demo! | Planned |
