So meanwhile, when the DREQ pin is low, we made task to sleep for vTaskDelay(1). After doing this, we significantly reduced the CPU utilization to 15%. We tried with vTaskDelay(2) to get CPU utilization of 10%.

This make the shield operate at high clock rates at 12.XX Mhz. So keeping this in mind we made the SPI speed to 12MHz which is safe. We successfully achieved CPU utilization of 5-6% which is very much in the acceptable range.
